Altruistic Hearts volunteers continue to do good deeds

Volunteers in the Altruistic Hearts: We Love Doing Good program have continued to carry out public works nationwide.

Volunteers yesterday launched a cleanup of Khlong Rangsit Prayurasak in Thanyaburi district of Pathumthani, dredging the canal and removing weeds and waste to improve its drainage. They said the work was not only to improve the condition of the area but also to inspire unity in line with the wishes of His Majesty the King.

At Nong Khai’s Provincial Hall, volunteers this week gathered for a cleanup of Mitraphap Road ahead of the 2018 Bung Fai Phaya Nak Festival, which marks the end of Buddhist Lent in the province. The area is also to host a young athlete qualifier event between October 19 and 29.

In Phrae province, 300 volunteers, police and municipal authorities marked the anniversary of the founding of the Royal Thai Police by cleaning the walls of buildings in the province’s old quarter.

In Samut Sakhon, Altruistic Hearts volunteers joined Village Health Volunteers and personnel from Samut Sakhon Hospital to campaign against dengue fever, looking to build awareness against the dangers of Aedes Mosquitoes, which also pose threats of Zika Virus and Chikungunya. They promoted keeping homes waste free, destroying mosquito breeding grounds and raising fish that naturally prey on mosquitoes.
